RevMan 5 beta testing
The RevMan 5 Release Candidate is now released. Beta testers may continue using it.
Registering as a beta tester
Send an email to revman5beta@cochrane.dk and we'll let you know if we have important news about the beta version.
Updates
We will most likely release several updated beta versions along the way. We strongly recommend that you always use the most recent version. RevMan will automatically check for updates once a week, but you can also do this manually by using Help > Check for Updates. If an update is found, click Open to begin retrieving the update file. Remember to exit RevMan before you actually install the update.
What's new
See the What's new page for a full list of all recent releases.
Getting reviews to test on
- RevMan 5 for Windows can open reviews from RevMan 4. It requires that an ODBC driver is installed on your computer – if it isn’t, you will be alerted to this and told to how to obtain it. If you are not using the Windows version, and would like to use an existing review for your testing, you can send the review file to the IMS team who can convert the review to a format that can be imported.
- You can create empty reviews within RevMan 5 by using the New button on the toolbar.
- If you have a user account for Archie, you can download a copy of
any reviews you are an author on from within RevMan 5, by using File
> Check Out. Note that you won’t be able to check reviews back in,
and that you shouldn’t expect to be able to use files edited in the
beta in the final version of RevMan 5.
Note: Being a tester does not mean that you automatically qualify for an Archie account.
Sending feedback
Please submit your feedback using the links within RevMan’s Help menu – this will give us more information, and you will have less to fill in.
- To report a possible bug or ask for help, use Help > Report a Problem.
- To suggest a change, use Help > Make a Suggestion.
We will be very grateful if you try to be as precise in your descriptions as possible, and send a separate report for each bug or suggestion.
Download
Before downloading, please note:
- Your feedback is essential. Please report any problems you find using "Report a problem" in the Help menu.
- Being a beta tester does not mean that you automatically qualify for an Archie account.
- You should for now only use the beta for testing. You may risk not being able to open reviews saved with the beta version in the final version, and you will not be able to transfer RevMan 5 reviews back to RevMan 4 format.
